Question

Refund way over the correct amount

I started a return in Turbo tax for home and small business.  The first time through, it showed a refund of over $45,000.  Though that would be wonderful, it can't be correct.  I checked all the W-2 information along with all interest and dividend information from my brokerage.  Later, I started a new return and this time it came back with about $10,000 which is more likely.  My problem is that I had already added all the rest of the information include the small business portion into the previous run.

Is there any way to make the system totally recalculate everything?  Is there a way to see where the refund number is coming from?  Help me save some time here.

No.  You will have to manually add the info from the first return into the new return.  You can print them out to compare line by line to see what's different.  I assume you have the Desktop Home & Business program?  If you don't understand a line, ask us.  You know you can switch to Forms mode?  Click Forms in the upper right (left for Mac) and look around.
