I have an amount of $388.00 under 'Refunds received for state/local tax returns' and I am not sure why or where it came from under 2024, and when I click on 'edit' it says 2023. I did my taxes with turbotax last year as well and did a standard deduction. When I click on it, it asks if I took a standard or itemized deduction in 2023, I chose standard and then it says my 2023 New York refund is not taxable. I am so confused and not sure if I should delete this or even if I could ? please help

It is not taxable.   You can delete or leave it; it is not on your tax return.   Since you did you tax return on TurboTax last year, the amount of your state refund was automatically carried over from last year.   Once you tell TurboTax you took the standard deduction, that income is marked not taxable.   It will stay on your summary screen, but not on your tax return.

To verify, print or preview your return and see if you have Schedule 1 with an amount on Line 1.    Since your refund was not taxable, that line will be blank.
