Remove password protection from old.tax2022 file

How do I remove password protection from old.tax2022 file. Import to TurboTax 2023 will not complete if the file is password protected. ion. I don't have an older TurboTax 2022 version. Great job Intuit for breaking this awesome import function, it worked until this new version.

      If the file is password protected, only someone using the TurboTax program on the computer protected the file.

      I have this question as well. Have the *.tax2022 file from last year, I know the password, but I no longer have access to the TT 2022 desktop software. (Got a new computer.)

       

      How can I import this password-protected file without the desktop software? Intuit's engineering team should understand this encryption technology, and be able to decrypt this file without issue (assuming the correct password is supplied by the user).
