Rental property that I sold in 2021 as installment sales.  I go though the process and the software is suppose to create a new 6252 form.  Instead it overwriting the last 6252 form.   This happen ever year. Anyone has a fix for it?

Please clarify. Are you referring to Form 6295 or Form 6252? What do you mean by last 6252 form? You sold the property in 2021 so 2021 should be the first year for Form 6252. Did you sell previous properties, on installment sales, in prior years?

Form 6252 Installment sales.

Last form = I have 16 installment sales from prior years. The last installment sale property is over written each time instead of creating a new form.  I should end up with 18 installment sales form 6252.   Two new ones for 2021.

This happen before and I had to create manually new form 6252 for each installment sale. For some reason the software has glitched again this year.

The first thing I suggest you do is clear your cookies and your cache.

I created a test installment sale in TurboTax Online and I was able to enter a new one. Below are my steps:

  1. Type installment sales in the search bar and select the jump to installment sales.
  2. On the Any Other Property Sales? screen, select Sales of real estate, cars, or anything else for which you receive payments over two or more tax years (installment sales)
  3. On the Installment Sales screen, select Yes.
  4. On the Property Description screen, enter the information requested.
  5. Continue with the onscreen interview until complete.
