Reporting RRSP interest and dividends on Form 8938

Hi!

I have RRSP accounts in Canada that have generated interest and dividends. Thanks to the Canada/US tax treaty,  I don't need to report these amounts on my 1040. However, I do need to report a Form 8938 detailing my foreign accounts.

When I enter my RRSPs as foreign accounts, I enter the dividends and interest. In a subsequent screen, TurboTax (Online) asks me to specify which form/line elsewhere in my tax return reports the interest and dividends I entered. I can't do this, since I have no requirement to report my RRSP interest and dividends anywhere else in my tax return.

Can I just enter "NOT REQUIRED" or similar in the box for location of these amounts?

I don't know how much room you have but you could write "exempt due to treaty"
