Residency

My wife and I got married and will live at a school in Louisiana for her to go to grad school full time. I will work full time and will not take classes this year. I might in the future. Her residency before moving is Tennessee, and mine is Mississippi. We have claimed our parent's addresses as our residence. What do we change our residency to? Do we change it to Louisiana since we will live there, or can we claim her parents' or my parents' residency since she'll be in grad school?

This web reference details Louisiana's rules as to who is considered a Louisiana resident for tax purposes:

In this case it is fine to keep your parent residency for tax purposes.  It is not your intention to establish a residence and you are living working there temporarily.  If you do establish a residence then you would change that on your taxes.  The post above lists the things that change your residency.

But remember that one of Louisiana's rules is that individuals who reside in the state for more than six months are considered residents of the state for the entire year.
