Question

Resolution to "hit a slight snag" trap when attempting to file state return with desktop TT. I've tried all supposed fixes, but those were for online version anyway?

I've already spent an hour apiece with two different TT support reps, with no resolution.  I was able to file Federal easily; this problem occurs on entry to paying the $20 fee for State file, with no available exit from the loop .  TT should simply waive the fee after all the time I've wasted.  If I have to file State by mail it will be months before I get my refund. If this isn't resolved soon it will certainly be the last year I use TT.

Does the payment information on your card match the address on your tax return?

Yes, it would if I even had a chance to enter payment info.  But the error dialog first appeared when I clicked "pay with credit card" (vs other option, to deduct from Federal refund).  Now it appears as soon as I try to enter the next screen from "Federal taxes successfully filed, let's file your State return", or some such.  I haven't been able to move past that without getting the "Hmmm..." dialog.
