Return keeps getting rejected for American living internationally

Hello,

I am trying to file my 2020 and I keep getting rejected saying that my AGI is incorrect.

I filed with TurboTax last year, so I have my Tax Return and my AGI. I have double checked four times that the AGI I have on my 2019 matches what I am inputting for my 2020.

I can't request a transcript from the IRS via mail because I have a foreign address and I can't request it online because it doesn't recognize my last address for my return which again, was foreign.

Calling the IRS is not favorable because the international number is not toll free. I one time sat on hold only for the person to pick up and then drop my call; it cost me almost $100. I am just trying to get my stimulus checks as it would be so helpful right now.

I can't seem to find an email that I can send anything to. I can't fax anything because I, like most people, have moved on from the early 90's.

If anyone has any tips or ideas I am all ears.

Please and thank you,

Just surviving.

Try entering 0.00.  If you filed your return late or on paper, the IRS may not have processed your return yet.  Also, did you receive any notices of corrections to your 2019 return?  If you missed income and received a notice of proposed change (CP2000) your AGI might have increased by the amount of the additional income on the notice.  If you are living abroad, you may not have received the notice of change.

Try the 0.00.  The IRS might be sitting on your 2019 return.  Also, did you file the 1040NR last year instead of the 1040?  If you used the 1040NR, then your AGI would be 0.00.

We don't have specific information on the income qualifications or procedures for the third stimulus payment because the measure hasn't been passed yet. However, If you had issues receiving your earlier stimulus, then the best way to ensure that you are one of the first to receive any future stimulus payments is to file your 2020 tax return as early as possible and use direct deposit so that the IRS will have your updated information.

You can find the most up to date information from the IRS here, and updates from TurboTax here as they develop.
