Question

Return says 0, but said more before

Weird happenings. Logged in this year to file my taxes and was given a pretty decent (for me) tax return. I got married this year, so we decided to add my wife's W-2 and file together. It turned out that we'd get a smaller amount back filing together, so we decided to file separately. I went back and deleted her W-2 only to see that now I'm not getting anything back. 0. I don't owe anything, but I don't get anything back either. How can it suddenly have this big of a difference? Was it wrong originally or is there a bug?

Searching on google would say there's a bug.. but how can I confirm this?

Anyone else had similar problems?

I am sorry you are having a problem with this. You can view a summary of your tax return to see what is listed on it by following these steps:

1. Find the "Tax Tools" option on your left menu bar and click on it

2. Click on "Tools"

3. Click on "View Tax Summary"

This will tell you what your income and deduction totals are as well as your refund or tax due. You can compare it with the previous year to see if you notice anything missing.

It is possible that when you changed your filing status and deleted your spouse's W-2 form the program may have stopped working properly for some reason. To correct this, you can try clearing the your computer cache.

You can also clear your return and start over by following these steps:

1. Look for the "Tax Tools" option on your left menu bar in TurboTax and click on it

2. Find the "Tools" option and click on it

3. Look for "Clear & Start Over " in the menu of options and click on that option to start your return over
