Return was downloaded and printed and mailed on feb 22, turbo tax is still showing ready to mail status.

TurboTax will not change the status because the IRS does not notify TurboTax when they receive a mailed return. If you have mailed your tax return the IRS says that you can start tracking it 4 weeks after mailing your paper return via the Where's my Refund site: https://www.irs.gov/refunds
