Question

Schedule C Depreciation Expense

The software says "Because you transferred this vehicle from your 2021 return we have enough information to calculate your 2022 federal depreciation." It would be nice to know what that information is. Also, it would be helpful to be able to view my Schedule C before I pay Turbotax to file my taxes. FreeTaxUSA lets the filer view the Schedule to make sure it's correct.

We need additional details to be able to assist you further.  What screen are you on where you are attempting to complete this?

You can also review your schedule C by following the below steps:

  1. Open or continue with your return.
  2. In the Search box type Schedule C.
  3. Click the “Jump to schedule c” link

I tried the steps you gave and couldn't follow them. I've yet to view my Schedule C, but I have determined, because of prior years depreciation deductions, that I will not get a deduction for 2022.

Go to "view", then "forms".  The form for depreciation is 4562, however you will have to look at one of the sub schedules which shows the depreciation detail.  Likewise you can view the completed schedule C under forms view.

Thank you for your suggestion. I am using Turbotax Self-Employed online. I can not follow the steps you suggested to view my Schedule C. I'm at a loss as to what to do next.
