Question

Schedule D appears to be doubling the amount on line 12 in error

The instructions for Schedule K-1, line 4a indicate this amount goes on Schedule D, line 12.  But in my return, the loss amount from Schedule K-1, line 4 is showing as twice the loss on Schedule D, line 12.

The instructions for Schedule K, line 4a, says that amount goes on the line 18 and line 19 worksheets, but those are not needed in my case.

Any thoughts?

The income got doubled up somehow. The easiest solution may be to delete the schedule K-1 and then see if that removed the income on schedule D. Then, re-enter the form K-1 and make sure you enter the correct information requested.

    Thanks, but no luck.

How can you contact TT for an error such as this?

Please follow the instructions here to reach out to our TurboTax Customer Care Team.

You can download or print your return to check your Schedule D entries.

You may have entered Capital Gains yourself, along with TurboTax moving Capital Gains to Schedule D from a stock sale, business property sale, K-1, etc. resulting in the doubling.
