Schwab error message "This import was unsuccessful" attempting to download 1099

If you get the error message in the title then it is my understanding that Turbotax only allows download of 1500 line items or less. This means even if you have less than 1500 trade,s but they fill in multiple lots, then this counts towards this limitation.

Any mildly active trader will easily surpass 1500 line items. Turbotax is of no help and they market this premier edition to help people with trading activity without letting you know of their severe limitation.

Anyone else getting this specific error message and, if so, what are your options other than manually typing in all the trades?

You have a couple of options.  One is to switch to using TurboTax Premier Desktop (CD/Download) software.  I'm sharing a TurboTax FAQ that "should" say that the Desktop software will allow for import of up to 10,000 transactions.  (The first point attributes this same # to the Online platform, but that is incorrect.  I believe TT Online can handle up to 2,000 transactions.  I've asked this to be corrected.)  The FAQ also explains how to enter summaries in lieu of individual transactions if you wish to stick with TurboTax Online.

How do I enter a large number of stock transactions in TurboTax Online?

@Pbeddoe1 Well, shoot.  I'm not much help.

Did you see the instructions about entering totals vs. individual transactions?  That would be the only other way I'd know to accomplish your goal.  I'm so sorry you're having this difficulty.
