Self employment fee

I had to pay for self employment filing fee and I don’t know why. I only have 1099G. I tried contacting live support by paying the fee and also waiting for a call back that I never got in the last 3 days.

It depends on where Form 1099-G was entered to explain why you would have to pay for the self-employment filing fee.

Typically, Form 1099-G should be reported in the Income & Expenses section under the designated section: Unemployment / paid family leave (1099-G).

If this income was from self-employment Tax relief related to COVID-19, then there were credits available for sick leave and family leave and a tax deferral than may have impacted your return.

Otherwise, the self-employment designation would have come from some other income source.

If you have already filed, wait to amend(change) the return until the return is accepted. Then, you can begin amending the return. Follow these steps to amend(change) the return:

With your tax return open after having filed the return, you will be at Tax Home.
Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents and Show.
Select Amend(change) my return and follow the prompts.
