Should I amend my taxes?

I am currently preparing my 2020 taxes and noticed some errors on my 2019 taxes. I am a dependent college student from TN. In 2019 I had student health insurance through mu university and I worked in DC, MD and MS. All 3 states took taxes out even though I am not a resident of any of them. I noticed that my tax preparer did not file my  student insurance tax documents nor my state taxes for DC and that I received less than I should have from MD. I decided to test out an online filing site and there is a $241 difference between what I actually received in my tax refund and what I should have received. I am not sure how to amend my taxes and I am wondering if I should.

Yes, you can amend you return. You'll have print and mail it to the IRS.

Also, print a copy of your original return and have it right by your side when you start to amend in TurboTax.

You can amend this year’s return only with this year’s version of TurboTax. If you want to amend your 2019 return, use that year’s version of TurboTax.

To amend you return with TurboTax:

If you used TurboTax Online, simply log in to your account and select “Amend a return that was filed and accepted.” If you used our CD/download product, sign back into your return and select “Amend a filed return.”
