Should i claim my 22 year old child as a dependent if she earns over $20k, and is full-time student; but I make too much too claim the education expenses?

thinking she could take advantage of the education expenses deduction that I am not able to due to my income. So am wondering if her net reduction in taxes due to the claiming of tuition, books and possibly American Opportunity credit would be greater than the reduction I get from claiming her as a dependent. Just seems like a waste to not get any deduction from thoise education expenses

If she is able to take her own dependency deduction, she will be able to claim the education credit.

You may want to complete her return both ways to see how much the difference is in tax.  It can be substantial.
