Question
I filed my '18 taxes in February of this year. In March or April of '19, I got a letter from the IRS saying that they needed more info for my '18 health insurance and to send a new 1040 so that they could process my return. I did, they approved it and sent me my refund in full (in April). Now, three months later, they sent me a letter saying that because they fixed my 1040 I now owe nearly $800. I'm really confused on how they could approve and credit my full tax return amount and then months later come back and say I owe them over HALF of what I even got back! I'm a student, working part time, and really don't have the extra cash to spare. Any knowledge or advice on this matter? Thank you!
