Should I file 2021 US tax return if my gross income is less than $ 10,000?

Hi,
I am an US citizen, living in India for last 15 years and have not visited US in these years. I just finished my college graduation and started working in India from June 2021.

My total income for year 2021 from all sources ( Wages and Bank interest) is less than US $ 10,000. I do not have any income in US .

Do I need to file my US tax return for 2021?

Somewhere I read online that because my gross income is less than $ 12,500, I need NOT my US tax return. Is that true? Please, clarify.

You are correct. If your total income for 2021 was less than $10,000 you will not need to file a US tax return since you are under the filing threshold.
