Should my North Carolina refund have increased by over 3500 dollars from last year when my income was about the same?

My refund last year was about 100 dollars and I don't understand why it has been calculated to be 3800 dollars this year.

Please go back and check your entries for state wages and state withholdings on the w2, 1099s, etc. One of those entries has to be wrong.
