Should my state of residence be Texas if I started my job in December 2022 but didn't move into my home until April 2023?

Generally, the address used on your federal return is your most current address - which would be TX. that address will default to the state return. 

You'll need to file your 2022 state return based on the state you lived in during 2022 but the address on that return will be your TX address - which is OK. You'll file your 2022 state return as a full year resident.
