Question

Should my wages be different on my larger amount W2 for the state of Hawaii if I moved there midyear? it currently reflects my whole year wages for the state.

What does "larger amount W-2" mean? Do you have 2 W-2s? Are they both for Hawaii? Does one have Wages that you did not earn in Hawaii? Did you work for the same employer both outside and inside Hawaii?

I did receive 2 W2s one is for my actual earnings for the year and the other covers a funded move.  I’m a fed employee and we are now taxed on our moves even though they are because the gov makes us move.  It’s ridiculous.  But that being said on my pure wage earning W2 I moved from a non tax state to a tax state and the total amount showing in box 16 for my new state has the entire portion of my 2020 earnings.  Which I believe should just be the amount after I moved. I’m pretty sure my HR screwed up
