Since I don’t have a refund or tax due, why is Turbo Tax charging me?

TurboTax may still charge you for filing, even if you don’t owe taxes or receive a refund. Here are a few possible reasons:

  1. Paid Version – If you used a paid edition (like TurboTax Deluxe, Premier, or Self-Employed), there’s a fee for filing.
  2. Additional Services – TurboTax may charge for audit defense, expert help, or state filing fees.
  3. You may have used some forms or schedules that were not available in the free version. You had to upgrade to the paid versions listed above.
