Not everyone gets a tax refund.  If your tax liability is greater than your tax payments you will have taxes owed.  Look at your federal tax return, Form 1040.  Your total tax is on Line 24.  Your total tax payments/credits is on Line 33.

If you made a mistake on the 2021 tax return that was filed then you will need to amend the 2021 tax return.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a 2021 tax return originally completed and filed using TurboTax - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-2021-return/L1gEU4G3X_US_en_US?uid=l5o5n9eb

As stated, not everyone gets a refund, especially if you have no dependents (or are a dependent yourself).  Some folks even owe at tax time.  Ideally, you should break even. Otherwise, you are giving the government an interest free loan all year.

@SweetieJean -- even if no dependents, if your income is low enough, you are still eligible for EITC, so you may get a refund even if there are no federal withholding on a W-2.
