Question

So my federal return looks ok, but my state return says I’m getting back $0. I’m confused because 1. I’ve never gotten back $0. And 2. It was saying that i had an overpayment from last

You may be seeing zero because the state return isn't fully complete and reviewed.  Be sure to visit the State tab in the program and Start or Edit your state return.

If you still see the zero after this, but you can see your refund in the state part of the program, then you will receive the amount that you see in the state section of TurboTax.  If you do not see your refund anywhere, it may help to start the state return over, which only takes a few minutes.

Here are the steps to do that:

  1. Once logged into TurboTax, click on State in the menu on the left-hand side and then select continue  (Note: some users may see State Taxes in the center of the screen rather than on the left-hand side).
  2. Beside your state, click delete then answer yes to confirm.
  3. Now select Add Another State to begin again.
