Solar and battery tax credit

I had a solar panel and battery system installed and operational in 2023. When filling out my taxes with turbotax, it asks separately for the cost of the solar system vs the battery system. The invoice and payments are not broken down that way. Can I just use the solar system cost line and enter the entire cost on the line for the solar system? Note: The battery system is 13KWH which is much more than the minimum of 3KWH.

Yes, you can add them together as long as the battery meets the specifications stated. Ideally, you might want to get a breakdown of the cost between the two. See the form below where they are all summed together anyway for the computation. Make sure to keep your invoice if you are questioned about it in the future.
