Someone else has used my information to file a tax return

    If someone else used your information to file a tax return and you are the victim of Identity theft, you will need to call the IRS ID protection Unit at 800-908-4490 ext 245.  They will walk you through what needs to be done.

     

    You will not be able to e-file your tax return this year, but in future years, you will have an ID PIN you will need to use for every return.
