Somewhere it asked me to select either a qualified or non-qualified plan. I didn't know what to select so I chose non-qualified. Need to ensure that was correct for me.

If you are referring to your W-2, box 11 will tell you how much money is in a non-qualified plan. If you are referring to a 1099DIV, you will see the same thing on line 1b. Most forms will indicated how much of the money, if any, is in a non-qualified account
