My son has a part time job. Makes around 60 a week. Should he need to file taxes?

Assuming your son is your dependent, dependent children who have earned income of more than $12,950 of income in 2022 typically need to file a personal income tax return and might owe tax. This applies if he is an employee. If he is self-employed, he will need to file taxes if he makes more than $400 in self-employment income.

Even if he is not required to file, he may want to, for example, if there is tax withholding that could be refunded.
