special rules for those married filing separately

trying to see if i could use the special rule to file head of household for which i am married filing separately.  my spouse filed standard deduction and i need to itemize.  i have an dependent and a home., and charity contribution.  what do i file?

You might be able to file Head of Household if you lived apart from your spouse for the last 6 months of the year.  Then it won't matter which deduction you take.  Otherwise you file as Joint or Married filing Separate.  If you itemize then your spouse must itemize also.
