Question

Spelling error under 'your occupation'

I made a really bad mistake and entered 'carefiver' instead of 'caregiver' for my occupation.  This is for prior tax year 2020 and I'm concerned it will effect my tax refund.  Is this going to be a problem?  I already filed.

No, it will not affect your refund. The spelling of your occupation will not be a concern. Correct it next year when your transfer your information over for the new tax year.

The IRS only uses "occupation" for statistics.  Occupation has no effect at all on your tax refund or tax due.  No need to stress over a typo there.
