Spouse is Non-Resident Alien. Can I use TurboTax

Hi all,

I recently got married to a non-resident alien (Canadian), and we are looking to file as Married Filing Jointly. She does have a social security number, and we both presently live in the US. We found that I can treat her "as a US resident for tax purposes."

I noticed while reading through the IRS website though that we must attach a letter signed by each of us. Is this something that TurboTax can do? We would ideally want to e-file.

Unfortunately you cannot add an attachment to an e-filed tax return. TurboTax doesn't provide this feature, in part because the IRS and state e-file systems would not be able to recognize them as a tax form and check their accuracy.
