Spouse passed away at the start of 2025

 My wife passed away the first of February 2025, before I had completed the taxes. I'm married filing jointly and I cannot check the box saying my wife passed away in 2024. Yet I must sign for her, I have power of attorney over everything, now since she is no longer with me. Is there anything extra I must put on my 2024 taxes to indicate my wife has passed? I know that I'll have to do this again in 2025 to show that she passed in that year. Is there anything else I must do in 2024?

    Edit your spouse's information.  On the screen labeled Do Any of These Apply to (Name) check the box Passed away before filing this return.
