Hello,

I have a question about Form SSA-1099. I am only the payee for my 9-year-old daughter. Her name is in box 1. Do I need to include this in my joint married filing?

Thank you,

Teresa M.

No, you do not report your daughter's social security benefits on form SA-1099 on your own tax return.

If these benefits are your daughter's only income, she does not have to file a tax retrun either.
