Question

SSDI income is not taxed in NC. I don't see that Turbotax is specifically making this adjustment. Is this adjustment being made?

SSDI is reported at the end of the year on SSA-1099.  It can be taxable up to 85%.  It is Social Security Disability Income.

SSI is not reported at the end of the year as income on a tax reporting document because it is not taxable.

You will only see a subtraction on the line for NC Social Security Disability or Old-Age income if part of it was taxed on the federal return.

Please review the federal return to see if it was taxable on the federal return.  If so, look to see if the subtraction is coming off the NC return.
