My friend is trying to e-file his taxes, it says that his spouses SSN should not be entered directly on the wisconsin information worksheet for e-filing. That he must complete the federal personal information worksheet.

what dose this mean? tried re-entering and still not working

His spouse's SSN has to be entered in the federal section, not on the state form. The state forms pull the information from the federal forms; you don't actually enter anything on the state forms. It looks like you are using the desktop software. If so, click on Personal Info and then click Edit next to the spouse's name and enter the SSN from that section. Then the state forms will auto-populate.

In the online version, you can edit the SSN in the My Info menu from the left side panel.
