I filed my tax returns with you all and did not did not get a standard deduction for me as a dependent or spouse as a dependent but going through the online process it id mark my 20 year old daughter as a credit for other dependents. My daughter then filed her own tax returns for 2019 and did get a return as well. I did get my stimulus check for $1,200 but my daughter has not. Can you please advise why see is not getting this or why she would not get it?

Thank you,
Greg

Since your daughter was listed as an "other dependent" on your tax return, she does not qualify for the economic impact payment. Dependents (of any age) do not qualify for a payment, and only children age 16 and younger increase the payment that is paid to parents.

She will not get the payment this year.

However, if she is no longer your tax dependent in 2020 when you both file, she would receive a credit that is refundable to her on her tax return when she files her 2020 tax return in 2021.
