Rent is not a deductible expense for your federal return.

If you are self-employed and renting something for the business, you would enter the rent as a rental expense on Schedule C.  You can get there by selecting Other Common Business Expenses when in the business return and selecting Rental Expenses.

If you are asking about a state that gives you a renters credit, which state?  Generally, you must walk through the state return and you will be asked about your rent if your state has a credit.

Where do I enter my self-employment business expenses, like home office, vehicle mileage, and supplies?
