Tax Credits (Child)

When I filed last year with my first born I believe I received a $2000 tax credit. This year I will be filing to include both kids. Does this equate to a $4000 tax credit? Is there anything else I should be aware of with kids?

    Yes, there is a $2K (per qualifying child) available for children under the age of 17; there is a $500 credit available for children 17+.   There is also a credit available for child care expenses, which I will leave below.
