1. Hi can u use the simple turbo tax online just as filing for revising the tax return from previous years? Afterwards i heard that u have to print an mail in the revised return is this tru no way to do it on irs online?

2. is there a place to access w-2 on turbotx for previous tax years

3. Does turbo tax still show my tax return info & file for a previous year even if i filed using a different company for that particular year?

No, TurboTax cannot get/does not have your previous year W-2's--ever---nor can TurboTax retrieve tax returns you prepared and filed somewhere else.

You can get copies of your past returns from the IRS--and copies of the W-2's that went with them--for $43 each.

You can pay the IRS $43 for an actual copy of your tax return which will include copies of your W-2’s

CAN I USE TURBOTAX TO AMEND IF THE RETURN WAS PREPARED SOMEWHERE ELSE?

If you did not use TurboTax to prepare your tax return, it is possible to amend the return using TurboTax but it will really be a pain. It would be better to use the software or service used to file originally. If a paid preparer made a mistake on your tax return, that tax preparer should do the amended return for you at no charge.

In order to use TurboTax to amend your return, you need to purchase the desktop software for the tax year and re-create the return EXACTLY as it appeared when it was filed with the IRS/states. Every line has to be the same. Then you have to "trick" the software into thinking you filed by saying you will mail the return. (but do not mail it) AFTER that, you use the software to prepare a Form 1040X, which has to be printed, signed and mailed to the IRS. It takes the IRS about 6 months or longer to process an amended return

1. You can amend a previous years' returns with TurboTax if you used TurboTax to prepare the original return. You may be able to efile an amended return.

2. If you scanned and saved your W-2 in your "My documents" in your TurboTax Online account, you will be able to access.

3. If you filed your taxes using a different company or different software for that particular year, then TurboTax will not have that particular tax return or any info related to that tax year.
