Tax Year Prior to 2020: Has anyone ever filed injured spouse for with joint tax return and received refund before 11 wks?

The information I have is from the IRS which provides an estimated time table:  

If you file Form 8379 with your original return, it may take 11 weeks to process an electronically-filed return or 14 weeks if you filed a paper return.

It can happen, but isn't very common. Generally the IRS will take the allotted time to process the injured spouse form and  adjust the refund if necessary, or send the refund. You should keep in contact with the IRS to make sure they have everything they need, and  to make sure they do not run into any issues processing the form.
