You can either send in a paper return (which will be processed in the order received when the IRS re-opens), or wait for the IRS to re-open for assistance retrieving your IP PIN.

I realize neither option is fantastic, and both are going to result in delays.  However, currently, with the IRS processing offices and live customer support both closed they are the only availble options.

It is not yet known when the IRS will re-open.

I'm going to find a way to blue some stuff up! I'm too poor and in need! I have an 84 year old grandmother but I can't get my stimulus check, which would help lot, because no one is helping people like me that need answers about the IP PIN problem!!!!

We are all in the same boat. Since some states have opened back up, try calling the local IRS offices in those states (even if it's not the state you live in).

ALL local IRS offices are closed due to the Coronavirus.

You do not need a IP Pin to mail file.   Just print, sign and mail your return and do not worry about the IP Pin.

I do not meet the credit requirements to verify my identity

So what do we do when it send u to the loan and credit options

Unfortunately, if IRS sent you an IP PIN to use to verify your identity so you can file a return and they will know that you are filing it, not some imposter.

Even by filing a paper return, IRS will delay processing it until they have satisfied their requirements that you are the actual one eligible to use your ssn to file your return.

Here is some additional information about retrieving your IP PIN and explaining the process in examining your paper return if you file without it:

How to retrieve your IP PIN

If you file your return without your IRS assigned IP PIN:

  • IRS will reject your electronic return and you won't be able to e-file
  • IRS will subject your paper return to additional screenings to validate your identity, delaying any refund you may be due

It won’t let me get my pin it’s saying I need a credit card or something that’s the only way I can create an account

If you need to obtain your 6-digit PIN from the IRS, you will need to contact them directly.
