My Mother passed away on March 19, 2020.  I am filing a 1040 for her as she received social security and her pension for January and February 2020.  I have indicated her date of death in Turbo Tax.  When it asks if she received stimulus I checked "no" because she did not because she was deceased when they were issued.  Turbo Tax is telling me she is entitled to it and will get a refund of $1,800.00.  How can I circumvent this because I do not want to get the money and then have to return it.  Thank you.  Madalyn Tedone

Under the current IRS guidelines deceased taxpayers who passed after 1 January 2020 are eligible for the Recovery Rebate Credit on their 2020 tax returns.  The calculations are correct.
