Question

Taxes are asking me to file a TC-40W form. Never had to do that before and didn't receive a TC-40W from employer.

You don't get a TC-40W from an employer...the tax software creates one based on your entries...and then files it with your UT tax return.

That being said, there is aa BUG in the tax software that creates an error on the TC-40W.

For every W-2, and 1099 form that has a UT State ID number in it (for example, box 15 on a W-2 form) you need to edit that form in the software, and end the UT state id number with a lower case "wth" and NOT an upper case "WTH".

no spaces..no hyphens, but a lower case "wth" at the end....(no, not the quotation marks either. )
