Question

The amount I enter for my stimulus is reducing my refund by the exact amount. Why if this isn't considered taxable income?

My returns are complete and let's say I'm due $2500 federal. If I go back and add my stimulus payment of $600, then my refund changes to $1900.

Look at the indicator.  Does it say Federal Tax Due or Federal Tax Refund?

It says refund. Clearly and in green. Depending on how much I put down for the stimulus I received, it changes my refund amount. So if my refund is $2,500, and I say I received $600 stimulus, it changes my refund to $1900. If I go back and say I got $0, my refund goes back to $2,500. If I go back and say I received $1 stimulus, my refund changes to $2,499. This is deliberately making me pay for my stimulus, and every article and even on the Turbo Tax website, states that this should not be the case.

It is the same with my return.   Takes me from getting a refund to owing federal tax.  Also not sure why we have to claim the 2nd stimulus amount on 2020 return when we didn't get it until 2021.  Can you answer this TurboTax????
