Question

The date for how long I've lived in Texas keeps saying 2018 but it should say 03/01/2019. Why can't I change it?

You can only enter 2018 on a tax year 2018 tax return.  If Texas is your resident state then that state is what you should have selected.  If you lived in Texas for all of 2018 then you should have indicated that you did not live in any other states.

I lived in 2 states in 2018. Illinois from 01/01/2018 to 08/20/2018 then Texas from 08/20/2018 until today 03/01/2019. On TurboTax app, it would let me put in the year 2019, so how do I fix that?

You enter your resident state as Texas and where asked if you lived in any other states you indicate Yes.  Then enter the date you moved to Texas - 08/20/18.  That's is all you need to enter.

I entered that just as you said, but on TurboTax tax form it asks you to provide dates from then to current, which I did. But when I put the year 2019  in there, turbotax's system automatically changes it back to 2018 for whatever reason, so My question is, is there a system error with TurboTax? If not, then Why does it change after i put in the correct information and can someone adjust the year?
