The IRS hasn't finalized one or more of your forms. Once forms are finalized, you will be able to access this section. Is this an error message?

I've been ready to file and pay my federal taxes since last week? Is this IRS message an error or delay?

Thank You,

J.S.

That is a TurboTax message and not from the IRS.  There are forms and schedules on your tax return that have not yet been finalized for e-filing.  If you click on the Review tab and go through the interview there will be a screen showing the forms and schedules and the dates they will be available.

No, mine says it will be available today and I called to ask what is going on and the answer was that NOBODY can file until the 29th. So why does it say the forms will be ready today, the 18th?!

I waited a week as it said the form would be available on the 28th. then I tried again today (the 29th) still not available...
I don't even have a business anymore! just 1 normal job.
Why does turbo tax free ed. need form 8995?

No, that is not an error message. You will receive that message if you have a form that needs to be filed with your tax return, but the IRS has not released it yet. What form are you filing?

I am getting this message also, when I do a review if does not indicate any forms are not available. There are numerous forms that the intuit system filled out  so I have no idea how to even check which ones may be pending or when they will be ready. Very frustrating especially since I already paid and can't use another service.

Perhaps IRS form 8915-E or IRS form 7202 are found in your tax return.

You are able to find these forms by using the Topic Search tool.  In TurboTax Online, you find the tool here:

  • In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
  • Click Topic Search.
  • Under I'm looking for, type 8615 and press Go

IRS Form 8915-E (Qualified 2020 Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Repayments is used to report Coronavirus-Related retirement plan Distributions.

IRS form 7202 Credits for Sick Leave and Family Leave for Certain Self-Employed Individuals is not currently available for e-file.  The form allows you to report these new tax credits:

  • Credit for Sick Leave for Certain Self-Employed Individuals. If you are self-employed, you may be eligible for a refundable tax credit equivalent to a qualified sick leave amount. Qualified sick leave is based on your average daily self-employment income.
  • Credit for Family Leave for Certain Self-Employed Individuals. If you are self-employed you may be eligible for a refundable tax credit equal to 100 percent of a qualified family leave equivalent amount for eligible self-employed individuals.

In the Review section of the TurboTax program there will be a list of forms and/or schedules that are included in your tax return that have not yet been finalized and the date when they will be available for filing.

So, TurboTax is rushing me for weeks, to get started on my taxes - SPAMing me repeatedly to do so.  So, I go ahead and get it done only to get this roadblock.  Mine says that the missing form (8911) won't be available until 3/17/2022.  Further, the filing process had me pay for the filing via credit card.  Keep in mind that multiple times through the process, we are interrupted with the suggestion that we should upgrade.  Intuit is just a little too focused on the revenue stream and needs to work on their product offering.

You are posting on an old thread, but I suspect you are having problems e-filing. This is a known issue in TurboTax and we are working to resolve it as soon as possible. As soon as we have a resolution for you, it'll be shared on Community. The issue is scheduled to be resolved end of 1/31. Please do not file prior to 2/1.

I have also received this message - filed 2 days ago - after the 2/1 date listed in prior comments - how long will this take to rectify - have never received this message in the past umpteen years of filing with TurboTax.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
