Question

The only reason I have to pay ($59) for TurboTax is because I qualified for the ($45) "Elderly or Disabled Credit". Is there a way to remove this qualification to save?

I turned 65 in 2022.  So, now I qualify for the "Elderly or Disabled Credit".  But, that causes me to have a "SCHEDULE 3" which disqualifies me from using TurboTax for free.  Since the tax credit is only $45 and TurboTax costs more, I would like to remove the "SCHEDULE 3" and am ok with losing the $45 credit.  Can I remove it somehow?

go to IRS Free File page and pick some other software that is free of charge.

Ask your Tax Expert to waive the upgrade charges back to Basic from whatever level causes you to upgrade and require a Schedule 3.  Long story made short: No, we can’t suppress a required document to be filed – that is tax avoidance.  We can appropriately discount your charge.  I apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your continued patronage with Intuit.
