Question

The software tells me I owe AMT of ~1800 but after competing that section of the software the Fed Tax Owed box doesn't change. What is wrong

I worry the software is malfunctioning and don't want to have to enter all the information again.

I have experienced the same problem as bo651, and have asked the same question without solution. Responses to date have told me how to check how AMT is calculated - that's not the question. The question is "Why doesn't the Fed Tax Due box change after AMT is calculated?" Please somebody, anybody, respond with advice on what to do. I'm afraid when I file for extension, the amount paid will be in error, resulting in my receiving penalties and interest, and requiring me to bill TurboTax!!!!!
