The tax office is closed due to covid 19 do not know when they will reopen how do i get the 5 digit pin

What are you doing?  The IRS does not furnish any 5-digit PIN.  Are you referring to the 6-digit Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) that they provide to certain victims of ID theft?  That's the only PIN the IRS provides, and most filers don't need it.  Only victims of ID theft or those who opt-in to that program.

 

If you're referring to a 5-digit Prior-Year Self-Select PIN to verify an efile, most people use the 2018 AGI when it asks for last year's AGI.  Then when signing the return, it will ask you to choose a 5-digit Self-Select PIN (any 5 digits of your choosing) on a screen with your birth date and today's date.
