This is confusing. i made tax payments in 2017 using 1042-ES and cannot find find where to enter this in turbotax

where do i enter fed tax payments made using 1042-ES?

Here's how to enter your 1040-ES Estimate payments:

In TurboTax, open your tax return and click in Federal, then Deductions & Credits
Under All tax breaks, locate the section named Estimates and Other Taxes Paid and click Show more
Click on Start next to Estimated Tax Payments (see attached screenshot).
